• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Wee Joe Allen

He’s been offered another year, whether or not he takes it or hangs up his boots is not yet known.

Football is a funny old thing.
I was talking with someone last week and he told me that Joey was hoping to get to another WC before he finally retires.

On his worst days he was simply reliable, on his best days he was a game changer. Sadly everyone could see his playing days were numbered. He's been a great player for club and country, nothing left for him to prove. I only wish he'd come back to us a bit sooner and played a few more full seasons in white. Hope he remains part of the setup in some role, but his player wages are certainly better spent on others if we are really looking forward to crack on.

The disaster was when old big nose had the opportunity to bring him back - but penny pinched himself out of the deal. In short order he was the player of the tournament at the Euros!!
No exaggeration but if we had pulled the trigger we might even be still in the Premier League.

Yep. The old cliche about never going back had been disproven with the returns of Leon and Gylfi having been such huge successes (although the less said about Bony the better). Having Allen back in 2016 would have been massive.

Sad times, but I’ll never forget that goal at Ninian he scored absolutely mental to be there and now see him hang his boots up, I’m guessing he will be part of Sheehans coaching set up.
And I have Joe and Leon’s shirts from that game.

I remember seeing the 16 year old Joe make his 1st team league debut coming on as a sub in a 6-3 home defeat to Blachpool.

Well it's nearly end of day and no announcement. I have heard little talk about this and in fact opposite that he is staying for another year?

Well, it could go either way. He has been offered a low contract. But if he turns it down he retires.

From SI
What we can reveal is that Joe Allen has been offered terms to remain at the Swans for next season. His contract will be more like pin money for a man of his financial stature, but he is keen to stay on at the Swans
