I was talking with someone last week and he told me that Joey was hoping to get to another WC before he finally retires.

On his worst days he was simply reliable, on his best days he was a game changer. Sadly everyone could see his playing days were numbered. He's been a great player for club and country, nothing left for him to prove. I only wish he'd come back to us a bit sooner and played a few more full seasons in white. Yep. The old cliche about never going back had been disproven with the returns of Leon and Gylfi having been such huge successes (although the less said about Bony the better). Having Allen back in 2016 would have been massive.

Well, it could go either way. He has been offered a low contract. But if he turns it down he retires.

What we can reveal is that Joe Allen has been offered terms to remain at the Swans for next season. His contract will be more like pin money for a man of his financial stature, but he is keen to stay on at the Swans
