• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Wee Joe Allen

Good player who came through the ranks, legend I don’t think so but like I said a good player, never in the same league as Leon in my opinion.
Hard to call him a legend indeed, he played all of his best years away from Swansea after Liverpool and later on Stoke came in for him. I stand by my assessment though of him being the best player our youth system has produced for at the very least as long as my living memory

For me Naughton has been a greater servant of the club, will be sadder to see him go.

Good player, shouldn't of had him back for the second spell. All the best joey and enjoy your retirement.

Was one of my favourite trips to that ground on that day. It was also the last time I’ve gone on a bubble, as the penalty they got awarded at the end pissed me off so much.

They had two fans right in the corner next to us and we drove them potty, so much so that they didn’t return to their seats for the second half.
Was that the one where we had union flags in the away end winding them up or am I confusing that with an older game

Had to happen sooner or later. Glad he finished his career at home. Good luck to you Joey lad.
ATB YJB.👍

Was player of the tournament at the Euros 2016 - that is a pretty decent level for a Swans product.

I think Copa is saying not a legend as most of his success came when he was playing anywhere, which is a fair point.

In terms of most talented/successful players who played for us at some point in their career, Allen is definitely up there. If we put our bias aside, he was comfortably a better player than Britton.

To be fair, it would be hard for anyone to be in the same league as Leon, arguably the greatest player we've ever had, alongside Curt and Ivor.

Joe is still a legend for me though. The goal at Cardiff, being part of the play off team, being part of that first season in the PL, and choosing to come back here to round his career off. Proper Jack to the core.
