• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Wee Joe Allen

Who knows maybe joins coaching staff. One of AS's press conference's he said having Joe with him was a huge help. Effectively along the lines of.... I do not know everything and having Joe with me is a huge bonus. AS does have slots open for coaches/assistants

Sad but inevitable, Joe has been a wonderful role model for any midfielder .
Thank you for all you’ve contributed to your local club and hopefully you still have more to offer the Swans.

Offered. Guess didnt accept and chose retirement.
Based on the little interview on the official announcement he could have gone either way. I don't know him personally but from what I have been able to glean of him as a person he won't have been happy with how often he wasn't available when the club needed him and even the temptation to play on and have a shot at the world cup next summer wouldn't have been enough to overcome that pricking on his conscience of not being able to offer what he wants as often as he wanted it.

The word legend gets thrown about a lot, but Joe is arguably the finest player to come through our youth system in generations and has been one of the blessed few who hasn't moved on elsewhere and succumbed to the ex Swansea curse.

Will be sad to see him hang up his boots tomorrow but there is a lot to be thankful for and I hope he gets the standing ovation he deserves.

Definitely the right time for Joe to step back.

Wonderful player in his day for club and country but he should have come back in 2016. We are not a retirement home.

Hmm, you were bang on the money. A lil inside info maybe. What else?
I get told the odd thing here and there by a mate of mine.
Some of it pans out, some of it doesn't.
Nothing new as of yet, will share if I hear anything though - going to be a big summer ahead.

Good player who came through the ranks, legend I don’t think so but like I said a good player, never in the same league as Leon in my opinion.
