Trying to work out the financial implications of this for Southampton.

40k Southampton fans for travel and accommodation even at a conservative £200 each = £8m
Rumoured class action law suit from squad at approximately £250k per player = £6m
Legal representation for both hearings must have been at least 500k

Generous estimates would say that spygate has cost them their reputation and potentially at least £15m

Some of their more saleable assets may even seek legal action to terminate their contracts and leave for free

In my experience for an appeal to be successful you generally have to provide fresh information to support your claim that the severity of the sanction was disproportionate to the offence, just arguing that the the sanction was too severe is rarely successful.
