• We have today (22nd April) confirmed the closure of JackArmy.net on 31st May. Our reasons are varied but after a twenty-five year stint at the heart of the online Swansea City community, the time is right for us to bow out.

Southampton

They seem confident that today's appeal will overturn it.

I've never understood this. The appeal should need fresh evidence, or a process fault, not just hoping for a different decision from different people on the same circumstances. That should never happen, as it makes a lottery of things depending on who is on the panel.

That decision has opened a right can of worms, just reading an article on the BBC website and Josh Windass wants the play offs to be restarted.

Tickets already being sold to Boro fans online , no doubt some will be booking hotels as well because of the distance involved. Oh dear , this really could get quite messy if they were to reinstate Southampton. As usual , the fans will be the ones to suffer.

Meanwhile the icon of integrity that is David Bernstein thinks that they should just get a fine:

Yup lets say a £5m fine when they will earn £200+m assuming they come straight back down
Such a disincentive that would be

A few dinosaurs have been claiming that the punishment is too harsh, Harry Redknapp among them.
Blimey, they'll be banning brown envelopes next.

Like trials, no one should be allowed to bump their gums about this in an obvious attempt to influence outcomes. There should be no 'political' or 'how will this be received' element to the judgement.

I can still see them getting away with it, because I have a very jaundiced view about the integrity of all football authorities.

For giggles, maybe they should reinstate them and fine them £300m, payable immediately.

I would like to think that the 4 points deduction is the thing that may be removed on appeal, but the decision on the play offs stands. 🤞

It would depend on what the 4 point deduction is for.
If it is for spying during the course of the season then it would be a big problem for the EFL credibility for it to be tossed out.

Until we see the written reasons my belief is that the punishments are:

1. 4 points for 2 cases of spying during regular season (reduced by pleading guilty)
2. Thrown out of playoff for spying ahead of playoff game(points deduction not applicable)

Strange isn’t it, so many Saints fans saying that it’s embarrassing, didn’t notice too many berating those dressed in camouflage and sporting binoculars during the second leg against the Boro.
