Stayed at Puerto Rico down by the Marina (if it was there 30 years ago) S. It is a much bigger place now with a brand new Shopping centre above the older Commercial Centre. Huge choice of places to eat and the Lager is 2 Euros a pint in loads of the bars. Weather was good apart from a few days of Storm Therese but even then it was sunny in between the rain. Yes, newish motorway basically from airport down past Maspalomas Puerto Rico and on to Port Mogan which is a lovely place. Not the prettiest of places but excellent for sun out of season.
Yeah Marina was there, went out fishing on a charter boat caught Yellow tail Tuna most of the time, great sport. just to the left of the man made beach, we were staying above the marina to the right looking up at the hill, used to walk through an area up to the place, no doubt that's it changed beyond recognition these days.

That is basically where the apartments we stay in are. Go through the small tunnel, under the bridge, past the restaurants on the left as you go up the hill and just beyond them on the right.

We always said that we'd go back one day and stay at Port Mogan, doubt that'll happen now, prefer the shorter flights, to Spain, Majorca or Portugal although this is the first time for us to go to Portugal. Italy is on the list at some point, Malta another place, flight time there is a bit longer though I think, eldest went to Malta a few years ago.

I can't remember what it was called now, bit of a hilly walk back up to the place bar and pool on the left and out chalet or whatever it was called was on the left, me and Mrs overdid the sangria on the barbecue evening dear me we never felt so ill in the morning :ROFLMAO:

As creatures of habit we go to same place in Puerto Rico every year, Servatur Terrazamar directly opposite the centre and do enjoy several brekkies in Tiffanys, 2 weeks in Sept this year sorted

Breakfast in Tiffanys, sounds catchy :) - watched the end of the Wales game there. Haven't tried breakfast there yet probs because of us being by the Las Olas centre - creatures of habit means we get to find our favourite places :)

Do Brexit supporters still exist? I’m actually intrigued whether they’ve become like the Iraq war supporters and not pretend they never supported the venture in the first place.

I assume there’s still some die hards out there. Still dreaming of that wonderful global Britain that nostalgic Britannia rules the waves vision in an era of tariffs and hegemony.

My word what a disaster - if you’re out there wow you fucked up didn’t you.

Yes, which makes sense.

25% of the Country are thick as pig sh1t.

There’s always a 10-15% of an electoral base that has tendencies towards extreme. The inflated 25% I’m assuming is simply just “burn the house down” fuck it types.

But I do think fundamentally you’ll struggle to find many beyond the pig ignorant who really feel down that the made a good call.

Which means the Country needs to be led decisively in the right direction and not be scared by a media class that are drifting away from the general public.

Bologna this evening and for the third time this year, although that seems irrelevant and I may as well have landed from Mars.

Warned before landing that the system is fully operational and to expect longer transit times, both inbound and outbound.

Disembarked to terminal, up three flights of stairs (no lift for people who cannot tackle stairs easily), passport scanned, photo and fingerprints taken, told to go back down the stairs. Met by a guy who filtered us into a queue for another passport scan, this didn’t work (also didn’t work when I went through Turin last month), so moved to another queue. This queue was alongside another one which then filtered into one immigration guy in the booth. It must have been shift changeover as they swapped men three before me, that took five mins as they had a good chat. When I reached him it was photo and fingerprints again. I told the guy this had already been done upstairs but he just shook his head from side to side. Passport eventually stamped approx 25 mins after entering the terminal. Huge queue behind me which will take considerably longer than 25 mins to navigate.

The takeaways:
1. The system didn’t recognise me, despite me being there just a few weeks ago
2. The process seems random, at least it does at this stage
3. Don’t hang around between plane and passport hall
4. Plan for the worst and anything else is a bonus
5. The 52% have fu**ed it up.

Will be back here again in two weeks.

The time you spend in Italy it’ll be worth checking out whether you’re eligible for Italian citizenship Coops. Green with envy ! Off to Santa Maria di Castellabate in May to get my fix. 😉

This coming Friday is the day everything is supposed to be up and running at every airport, sea port and land border between Schengen and non-Schengen countries. Unfortunately, this doesn't mean queues will be eliminated because most delays are due to people entering Schengen for the first time when having fingerprints and facial scan will be compulsory from Friday. Queues will be around until the vast majority are on the system so anybody's guess how long that will be. At least Easter is out of the way but first week of the school summer holidays in July could still be horrendous when millions who haven't been abroad since last summer will all be on the move.

We had some brief discussions about relocation, both at home and at work, but too much going on domestically to make it feasible.

Here’s the point, I haven’t seen or read any evidence that you ‘end up in the system’ at airport level, let alone country or Schengen zone level.
