My sympathies to anyone adversely affected by these, I know what it's like, but on a purely selfish note, are these works still likely to be in place on Saturday?

According to the Wombles up in Cardiff, works are due to be complete second week in December, lane closures and some overnight working included. I'd check closer to the day before planning your trip.

Was fine Swansea to Cardiff around 7pm last night, although looked busy heading West back towards Swansea. Went off at Coryton then towards Heath/Roath. Very quiet.

Hope it is ok later as I am driving up to Cardiff from Swansea to see BC Camplight at the Globe.
