• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Gibbs White didn’t really do anything while here … I literally don’t remember him

5 games - 1 goal
If he didn't suffer that serious injury he would have had a lot more game time
It was equally frustrating that as soon as he recovered Wolves recalled him for cover and he only saw one appearance at the end of the season for them

We've been pretty compliant on P&S/FFP so far as I understand it - although some will say we're sailing close to the wind on it.
We definitely can't afford to break any wage structure we have.
Not worth risking the long term future of the club for one or two players.
We certainly shouldn't break the wage structure for sure and we don't need too. Hopefully there is a solid recruitment structure in place and if done right then there are players out there to push us on within our structure.

Regards the rules in place, it does beg the question why do many clubs haven't been reprimanded or punished for clearly breaking these rules....some quite often aswell.

Yeah, he’s been great. Given who he replaced, it’s like having two extra players.

Jeff was someone we had from Manchester City in the early 70s. I loved him…probably the only one that remembers him 😂
Jeff joined us on loan at the start of the 1972/73 season with Phil Henson and Keith Hanvey - all from Man City.

Did you know that Jeff was a Cardiff boy??

I would be amazed if Franco was on £20k per week. We could be paying him a quarter of that and it'd still be a massive increase on what he's likely to have been earning at a lower Portuguese club.
I just read it on here :

But just seen Capology.com who I think are more reliable have Franco as £8,500

There’s ways of giving him what he wants without breaking a wage structure by giving him a signing on fee etc

We should make big savings in Pederson and Naughton leaving - close to £40k a week 😵‍💫

That Pederson signing has to be one of the most mystifying ones in the clubs history.

Neither of them are earning close to what has been reported either.

Naughton was at one point when we were still in the PL, but he's certainly not now.

Problem

Naughton will be on nowhere near what Pederson is on.

As for O'Brien, the way I see this playing out is he probably is enjoying his time here, playing football regular, man of the match regular and me making noises that he'd be keen to stay. But summers are long in football and bigger and richer clubs in the league will be in his and Nottingham Forest's ear. They'd more than likely want to sell aswell. Can't see anyway he ends up a Swans Player next season.

No. Hate him....🤣

Went to Sheffield Weds didn't he? Was hoping he'd come back to us. Remember Hanvey and Henson, but wasn't so taken with them.

Leicester. Nailed on.

From memory Hanvey old style centre half and Henson lightweight midfielder.
3 from Man City and expectations went up but didn’t last long 😃

Aye, lve forgotten about many of our loanees, just been impressed with O’Brien whose the here and now, but yes we have been lucky but he’s been by far the best these latter yrs, along with probably Brewster
Brewster is another not mentioned in a list of best loans. If we measure only on impact here, not what they did later in their careers, O'Brien (good as he has been) would maybe just crack the top 10.

Definitely behind Brewster, Britton, JDG, Guehi, Paul Anderson, Gylfi, Borini for me.
I’ll say it again l don’t get the adulation for De Guzman myself, not saying he didn’t have his moments, but l wasn’t much of a fan of him

JDG was one of the best footballers to pull on our shirt. Good things happened when he was on the pitch. To think we had an embarrassment of riches in midfield with Leon, Joe, JDG, Michu, before you even start counting wingers and inside forwards, so much so that JDG contribution could be understated.
