• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

He's going nowhere. You must be deluded if you think we're going to shell out compo unless we really have to. If we're rock bottom at Chrimbo of course they will consider giving him the old heave ho, but we have to be up s**t creek without a paddle before they even consider paying him any compo.

They should do what they’ve done with Bennett, just tell him not to turn up for work and get one of the tea ladies to take the half time team talk. See how he likes that.

He's going nowhere anytime soon. He's their man. That interview when he talks about the direct line should tell you just how secure he is.

Yeah, don’t think so.

He’s toast.

You might be right, but if you are it would be a damning indictment of how the club is run. You don't sack a manager this early or during a window. Even if you've come to the sudden realisation he's a duffer.

Just carry on wasting time then?

Yes, carry on wasting time and not pay out any compo unless the shit really hit's the fan. That's what they'll do. A quick decision like Nottingham Forest did last season is not in the DNA of the current administration

It took us two months to finally get rid of that same manager after it was agreed he was leaving.

Anyway, whether it would be right or wrong to get rid of RM now is of course an entirely subjective manner. My point is really that if it came to that after three games, until which point he'd been given the green light to shape our transfer approach, bring in his own team etc, then that's no way to run things.Once you back a manager in the summer, you have to give him a fair trot.

Was he trying to sell them insurance? ;)

The two standout people really are Bielsa (out of a job) and Toshack (knows many of the reserve players and Joe, many links to the club).

Problem is that Bielsa demands absolute control over transfers which I cannot see the owners ever agreeing to even though he would be able to transform this club radically.

Similarly selling the job to Toshack would be tough because of how the owners sold him up the river twice in regards to stepping up to the managers job from the u23s.

Brendan Rodgers position looking shakey. They were calling for his head after the EFL cup game. Now they are losing with a man advantage.
Theres no way he would come.... no way...

Another one who would instantly improve what we have, problem again is would he put up with the nonsense of our owners?

Under the old board it would be the time where we would look for a progressive foreign coach perhaps to take us forward. Brexit has put paid to that however.

Why not? What benefit is there in waiting?

Edit. OK just read above but respectfully disagree.

16 days is a long time. Bumping threads is always a bit weird.

Still stands though, by and large. It would be a complete failure of the entire operation if you sack the manager this earlier this early. If you back him for the summer, and back him with spending the entire budget on a defender, then you don't get rid after a half dozen games.

Tbh I don’t care about the operation and the Yanks saving face. If they’ve any sense they’ll replace the manager now. Unless they’re planning on recouping their investment by other means.
