Walter passed away today in 2017, part of one of the best bands ever.

From one of their best albums

I saw them at the O2 a couple of weeks after he died. It was, as always, a great gig but tinged with sadness.

RIP Mr Becker.

Have you heard Donald Fagan's solo album 'Nightfly', Mutey? One of the best albums of the 80s in my humble opinion.

Yes. All members of the band are superb musicians, I love Lee Ritenour, guitarist, who played with them. He also was in “Fourplay” a band that play “smooth jazz” . Don’t like that term but that’s how it’s described.

Ah…pour me another Cuban Breeze, Gretchen.

Favourite Steely Dan line…”I stood up on the platform, the man gave me the news; he said, you must be joking son, where did you get those shoes”.

Greatest duo of all time, any musician of any repute wanted to audition for the Dan. Drummers like Purdue and Carlock Sax from Sandborn and nearly every great guitarist from Carlton to Herrington to name a few.

Superb band, Rikki don't lose that number is my favourite but lots of good songs .

I think you mean Purdie. Huge influence on Pocaro and Toto. I saw Larry Carlton on tour with Lukather a few years back. Steely Dan, Toto, Boz Scaggs - all the best players.

There was a fantastic tribute to Walter at a gig I attended in Liverpool, around Christmas 2017. They dedicated two songs to him and spoke at length about how much respect they had for him; Walter had produced one of their albums. Hats off to China Crisis.
