Its an interesting topic, while I can understand wanting to have the identity of your country being labelled in your own language at the same time you don't see Germany changing their national team's name to Deutschland or Japan changing theirs to Nippon.

I don't feel strongly either way personally but could see it being a can of worms.

I think most non-English-speaking countries don't care what their English names are, just as we don't care what Wales is called in German or French. The exception is Turkiye who objected to their association with Christmas dinner......

For a mostly-English speaking country like Wales the name matters a lot more. Cymru is our own name for ourselves, whereas Wales is an old Saxon insult.

Yeah, change it. Just to wind up all the people that don’t care 🤣

As someone who's Welsh, doesn't speak Welsh, has no desire to speak Welsh, I think it's a bunch of Welsh language nutters trying to prove they're more Welsh than non-speakers.

Though after this World Cup with Bale retiring I can't see we'll get near a tournament again for a while, so it'll be easy to ignore the "Cymru" team.

Even though Wales is an insulting word given to us by Anglo Saxons cymru doesn't sound great either , change it to dragon I would

Pretty sure when Germans are talking about their National team in German they aren’t talking about Germany.

Yup. This will annoy all the right type of people. As such, I’m all for it.

Totally disagree with you on both points.

They aren't 'nutters' they are proud of their country and their language, I'm all for it.

And I think we are a better outfit than 2016, we have better technical players than then, all bale is good for now if free kicks.

Is the correct answer. Cmon Cymru!!

Absolutely beautiful, and another small step in the correct direction.

With the added bonus of it winding up the divvies.

Deutscher Fussball-Bund is the Association

The team are usually called Die Mannschaft (the team)

Oddly Japan have the JFA, but also have a Japanese name.
