• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

I find the melt down the Southampton fans are currently experiencing slightly amusing. At the time of his appointment the phrase HMS Piss the league was thrown about quite often. That didn't last long 😂
They are also reflecting on their unbeaten run. “Lucky”, “most bored I’ve ever been”, “slept through it” and “spawny Lego headed twat” are some of their conclusions.

Honestly don't understand the obsession with stats and the "modern day" football supporter.

They tend to ignore the numbers of points won and goals scored, these days. It' almost like possession and passes completed are more important than actually winning.

Russell is finally managing to instil the basics of proper defending in his Southampton players.

1. Watch the ball at all times. It's the ball you want so that's what you should watching.
2. Defenders should stand together in groups, then you have the players to rush on to their attackers.
3. It is better to hold ball and pass it back and forward between along back line and across goal than moving it upfield where you might lose it. Never worry about giving the opposition time to block the channels and organize a rush press, this is proper defending.
4. Centre backs should not worry about each others positioning or the keeper. The concept of the back triangle is outdated and has no place in modern defending, modern defenders operate as individuals not as a unit.
5. If you have the ball as last man and see a rush press coming you absolutely must not chip it over their heads or put it into touch. Pass it to the goalkeeper even if he is now double marked.

'The process' has finally got them to defend properly, and the results are coming in as expected.

Just watching the Mancs play Russbot's wet dream. It's so boring. Forest should have creamed the tedious turds, playing exciting, quick and energetic attacking. Somehow, they've missed all their chances. Now the Haaland Robot Terminator has put them to sleep. Undeserved.

Seems about right 😂

Great finish though, great composure and accuracy.
