What a fuking racket that is, looking for a cover for a week and prices are ridiculous, greedy twats.

Try Staysure and Royal Mail. I got a week’s cruise for £50 last Christmas with Staysure, and my missus has a minor heart condition. They’ll have been greedflated since then, obviously.

I think I paid less than £20 last month, for a years cover.

Starting from 39 quid on Money Supermarket, Staysure wanted a kings ransom.

We're in our 60's though, I'm on Statins, Mrs is on Tabs for Osteoporosis :(

Don't know who you bank with, but worth looking at what they offer.

We're taking the boy out for his first trip (and probably only trip based on the cost) to Disney World next Feb. My wife has a couple of medical conditions and was being quoted a minimum of £500 to cover the three of us for the States.

I went through Barclays and can get a combo of annual worldwide travel insurance and breakdown cover for £12.50 a month. Once we added on the pre-existing conditions, the premium for that brought it to a total of £270 for the year.

We had travel insurance free with the bank, even with a few medical issues, until this year as I’ve reached the grand old age of 70.

That's a great deal. I thought I was doing well getting it down to half what the wife could find elsewhere!

Countries visited, age, medical conditions, type of holiday, will all make a huge difference to the premium. Adding Spain almost doubled one quote I had. The bank insurance with my current account was free for UK and certain countries, but didn’t cover cruises or medical conditions or, weirdly, Switzerland. Then it became more expensive when the anomalies were priced in. So I suppose the truth is, we can’t really compare, just need to find the cheapest for your circumstances as we’re all over a barrel.
