I am absolutely advocating this. Youth can only grow into a player ready for the first team with experience in that environment.
Giving a couple of minutes here and there when a game is often dead and buried can help motivate a youth player but it does next to nothing for helping them grow compared to them getting a proper game or two under their belts.
