This is just a clusterfook that isn't going to improve under Duff's guidance.
Waiting is just going to dig us in deeper, it's clearly not going to work.

Get him gone in the next 24hrs, tonight if possible.

Nathan Jones will be rubbing his hands together tonight.

When we were struggling under Russ, there wasn't a lot of toxicity in the ground as there were many who hero worshipped him.
Duff doesn't have that luxury, and Saturday will be mental with another shit show.
Won't be pleasant.

It hasn't been pleasant watching any of our matches this season, but you are right , if it goes pear shaped on Saturday it will get toxic.

A lot of people didn't like Martin but a lot got the fact that he wanted to play football and there was a style.
This with Duff is just football that is reminisant of football 30 years ago.

The longer they leave not sacking him, the worse it's going to get.
The yanks have fooled up badly once again and this one could be their worse down the line if they don't act soon.

Surely Duff is gone before the weekend.

I wasn't a fan of Russ, but tolerated him cos deep down I think there was a plan screaming to get out.
This guy is a complete and utter tool.

There will be lengthy talks as we speak I’d imagine, I think we could well be playing the owls with a caretaker manager Saturday, as I don’t know if it’s a good idea to even have him at the helm for a home game Saturday, it is gutting as we all wanted him to succeed, but the time and patience mantra is not a luxury in this division, he’s out of his depth at this level it’s evident, we weren’t an absolute shambles tonight, but, you can see this isn’t going to straighten out anytime soon, lose Saturday under him if he’s here, and that could translate to loss after loss with an odd win and a scattering of draws, and stay firmly in the bottom 3 for the season, I just don’t see a way for him to stay unfortunately, it’s not just seven games without a win, it’s seven games without anything to see as remotely positive, and that will make it all worse by hitting attendances, and those who do attend will be very toxic understandably, a draw at QPR ironically as a result, is good…..but it doesn’t tell the full story.

It was ok in the ground wasn't it. Completely different to on here (but then we're all miserable old tvvats ). It's toxic at S'ton already. They're not a happy bunch with Martinball either in or out of the stadium.

Plenty of comments on their forums like this that sound very familiar. "Make no mistake, tonight was entirely down to the manager. His insistence we pass out from the back, and his ridiculous midfield set up cost us tonight." https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/topic/60406-saints-0-1-ipswich-match-thread/page/19/#comments

I chuckled at this one:
"Goals are over rated anyway. I gladly pay double just to watch smallbone pass 5 yards to our centre backs repeatedly".

That's a great way of putting it - I've been struggling to articulate how I felt about Martin. I think we needed our Brendan moment - someone to come in and build on his work, just like Brendan did after Sousa's dull season. But we ripped it all up instead for some inexplicable reason. I suppose the difference is that we had better players then, as I can't see many of this lot stepping up to PL level.

I said this in another thread, the similarities between Duff and Colin Appleton are uncanny, both left clubs that had just missed out on promotion and both were the wrong fit for the club.
This is only ending one way, the deluded among you reckoned we’d had a tough start to the season…don’t make me laugh will you, have a look at some of the fixtures coming up they’re frightening, we’re probably not in Dai Penney giving the team talk territory yet but it can’t be far away.

Duff will get 10 games, minimum.

Have Soton paid us for Martin yet? They won’t get rid of him otherwise they’ll have two lots of compo to think about.

There's not one single premier league potential player in the building.

Forget promotion, for a long time again. Survival is the aim now and then mid table. For once Cardiff seem to have hit on a decent manager and we haven't. Ramsey has changed them too, whereas Allen has either been rubbish or injured for us, and no influence at all. I admit I didn't see this coming, although I know the wheel always turns.

He was asked about Allen tonight, to which he replied he's out for a while and got to see a specialist.
