• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Watched the second half of Wolves v Liverpool and at 2-1 down after 85 mins, Wolves were still pi55ing about with the ball in their own area, trying to outplay Liverpool.
Only a select few of elite clubs like City, Liverpool can play this way, but nowadays it seems fashionable for all to play that way.
Teams are just trying to complicate things for themselves rather than simply playing to their strengths.

I watched this too, Gary Neville was having an aneurism commentating on it lol

Call me old fashioned but I was brought up playing over 50 yrs ago and always told to play football in the right area's. Do they think that fans in general think it's great? It's OK by me if the opposition are doing it.

it's the curse of the modern game. The almond milk latte drinking fans are obsessed with possession stats more than they are goal scored and conceded.

Fuck it, back to route one football it is then, hooooooof!

The problem is, lumping the ball long generally loses you possession. Against any half decent team these days - especially those that are leading with 5 mins to go - you might not see the ball again for a couple of minutes. And at that point in the game you haven't got the energy left for a high press to try and regain possession. Teams are playing this way for a reason - it's not the 1970s anymore. Back in those days you daren't "faff around" at the back because the pitches were so bad. These days even the lower league pitches are pretty perfect. And let's face it - Gary Neville's managerial career didn't last very long.

Then again "putting the ball in the mixer" when chasing the game with time running out is always the better option than stringing 30 passes together to get the square root of nothing?

If I drink almond milk latte, will I stop screaming at the screen?
