• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Depends on what his motive was. I’m sure the police are considering it but given the charges so far (there’ll be more) it doesn’t look like a terrorist act to me.

What is odd is the number of people looking to find reasons for his actions. “PTSD” “perhaps he panicked” “the scousers attacked his car first” “he found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time”. One or more of these mitigations may end up being true. They may not. But regardless, I’m absolutely certain we wouldn’t be seeing so much enthusiasm for this proposed mitigation if he looked less like a Paul Doyle and more like a (for example) Sadiq Khan.
Yes - I read somewhere that the case will centre on the question of intent.

Thanks for the reply, still doesn’t answer my point though.

Paul’s comment on him not being charged with terrorism and is there anything to suggest he should have? (or shouldn’t have)
I’ve answered that. If Paul thinks he should be charged with a terrorism offence (he may well still be of course) it’s not for me to explain why Paul thinks that.

Definition of terrorism according to the act:
"the use or threat of certain actions, designed to influence the government or intimidate the public, for the purpose of advancing a political, religious, racial, or ideological cause."

“Political, racial, religious and ideological”. Fairly wide ranging that.

Looks to me like this bloke is probably a bit of a mad bastard who got caught out trying to pull a fast one in a crowd of mostly pissed up people enjoying the day, things went badly quickly. Thankfully nobody lost thier life and speedy recovery to the injured.

Sounds the most likely scenario. I’d be amazed if the white marching powder wasn’t involved.

Certainly got you discussing it, it seems as if its the press that decides what it is here we have a white 50+ male being described as a wholesome family man.....because he's white, if he was brown well who knows what he would have been described as, it's what the press want, or the right wing scum bag press, of course it prob was nothing to do with terrorism but it shows dependant how easy that shit is to trot out out dependant on skin shade.............
