Prison officers have always been attacked, since prisons began. You don’t recall because people normally don’t give it a second glance, it’s only because the most recent were carried out by high profile prisoners.

Both of whom happen to be not white and you’ll never convince me that isn’t a factor in some people’s thinking when talking about this stuff.

That may be so. But if you look at this chart, you can see there’s a rather large increase of prison officers being attacked just in the last twenty years.

Well when you cram more and more people into tiny spaces and treat them like animals, you are going to get people behaving like animals in return.

Well I don’t know about being treated like animals, but I think you have a fair point with regards to overcrowding , no doubt that’s the main cause of the escalation of attacks on prison officers. Which seem to have tripled in the last 20 years.

When you are forcing them into overcrowded prisons, that is treating them as animals. People are quick to moan about battery farming chickens, but we’re doing it with humans and turning a blind eye until something like this happens.
