17k Welsh Government grant so they can go on a pìssup at the World Cup...

Taxpayers money well spent?

£17,000 grant to pay for band's trip to Qatar criticised by Welsh Tories

It's upset the Tories? Sound, send a reserve band out as well then.

I don't do politics, but come on, 17 bags of sand to send a bunch of blokes on a jollieboys outing to Dubai...

Aye, almost as bad as millions for bogus PPE companies set up within 14 days by a mate. But I do agree with your point, they are all the same.

They dislike the Swans with a passion.

Should pay their own way like everyone else.

At least 2 are long time Swans fans?

Well they could have fooled me with their twitter ramblings about us a few months back.

Don't know much about them, but they are coming over as being a bunch of knobs...
Anyhoo, why are we paying for them to jet off to the World Cup so they can have a bit of a jolly? Wouldn't this money be better spent on something more credible...

What a non-story.

I'm more interested in the existence of this £1.8m World Cup Partner support fund meant to "help project our nation’s values and work to secure a positive and lasting legacy for Wales and Welsh football".

I don't have a problem with less than 1% of the budget going to the band, but would question why almost £2m was put towards this vague project in the first place. Surely that would be a better question for the Welsh Tories to be asking?

Again not into politics, but why are they giving a bunch of blokes 17k to jet off on a pìss up, do you get funding for your holiday abroad?

I don't think the fund should exist in the first place, but seeing as it does, I don't see spending less than 1% of it on this to be a big deal. Whether you like the band or not, they do add some flavour to matches and I imagine part of this deal would be for them to be doing promotional stuff between matches for Welsh football.

I personally wouldn't have approved giving them this money if I was in WG, but then I would have rejected the whole fund as a waste of money. I just can't see it as something to get worked up about and the Tories missed the target by focusing on this rather than the existence of the whole £1.8m fund.

Yea was listening to him on a podcast recently goes way back.

Maybe he doesn't control their social media account I don't know. From what I've seen though they tend to be fair to all the Welsh clubs.
