• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

So sounds like a panic after Hellberg had a u turn.

Then they had second thoughts after realising it was done in haste and feared a backlash if the appointment went wrong.

Sounds an absolute shambles but I could certainly believe that has happened.

Rabbits in the headlights spring to mind.
Don't blame them - someone with only 12 games as a manager should not be considered, irrespective of what league. We have the players, we have the money, so spend some money on a decent fucking manager!!

Some things never change
It needs to though.

I had a good chat with someone over the summer and they had deep concerns and said watch things go to shit.
That fear was increased with the Montague situation and I don't think this managerial hunt given the Hellberg situation and now Matos story is going to make me think this person was wrong.

The owners need to get someone in with proper experience in the field or they will end up looking very silly and potentially out of pocket.

I certainly believe we should be looking for someone who has a bit more experience.

Don't blame them! Shouldn't have put themselves in that position in the first instance.

Not that i

I have no clue on the matter but how certain are we that Montague wanted Hellberg over Sheehan?

There was chatter on here or on X that Sheehan and Montague not seeing eye to eye and there being tension was partly to do with his departure. Whether that came from Sheehan knowing he was not the first choice is a possibility. Or it could just be people adding 1+1 = 11 online.

What/who were the concerns about?

I meant I don't blame them for being hesitant over matos. I really struggle to see how he could be 2nd choice with the amount of money we spent in the summer.

What’s gone to shit exactly? Best summer in years, and now you start panicking because we haven’t replaced a manager for 10 days?? There are clearly agitators trying to cause issues for the club and it’s not difficult to figure out who and why.

No, I knew what you meant but they should have been a more hesitant prior to making an approach for him.
The questions should have been asked before hand if what Dz is saying is true.

The club were determined to stop leaks to the press and they’ve done it reasonably well.
None of us know what’s been happening so we have to trust the people and the process. There will be plenty of time to analyse the decision making in the future.

Just had the following message from a mate of mine "Matos…..they’ve agreed to pay the compensation €1m".

Money talks obviously...BUT I do feel that taking the Boro job comes with a lot of expectations and a decent chance of regression. I have seen them a few times and been underwhelmed - and I believe they are greater than the sum of their parts.
They do also, however, have the most patient and faithful chairman in the whole of football
The Swans, in contrast, are dramatically underperforming (although not all posters on here would agree). I think we have a VERY talented group of players (best since relegation IMO) and I could quite easily see us upwardly mobile with some fresh attacking ideas, confidemce and a run of fortune.
We remain a very attractive club - our alumni almost always progress their careers on the back of a spell on the Welsh riviera

But of course it won't be over until the fat lady sings. Fingers crossed 🤞
