• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Why would Modric care. He still plays consistently he doesnt have time to actually run a football club. Hes just there to call potential players thats basically it.

We do not even know if Modric has a big enough stake to have a vote on key decisions. He was playing for Croatia the other night and people on here and twitter were speculating that he was working on the new hire. I would not want him to even if he was, until he could retire and make it his sole focus.

Negotiation and decisiveness is not our strong point

As a few articles have pointed out this week - the fact that we do not have strong football people at the helm is going to haunt us.
To be fair we did well in the summer with signing players fast. And Montague was rumoured to be half out the door. The situation with Hellberg and now Matos, either means we have been very unlucky or as you said we need more experience? Difficult one to know really.

Possibly but with Boro coming in last minute shouldn’t we have wrapped up signing Hellberg before getting to that point of someone else coming in, would Montague for example have closed that deal beforehand.

Speaking to somebody - semi-reliable - from the club, there was a swift rally behind Matos and his hiring as an immediate response to Hellberg's choice catching them by surprise.

In the light of day and with time to consider - there's been a slight wavering in confidence, pertaining to how they came to their decision and if they can afford such a gamble - and crucially who would be blamed if it does not succeed.

A good chance it still happens but questions that should have been posed at the outset are only now, belatedly, being voiced.

True. I think money spoke on this occasion and his head was turned by there table position etc. I suppose we will never know if not having Montague has caused a issue in not getting things over the line. Non of us know what goes on and what people strength and weekness is. At end of day, this appointment will determine either get those who made this appointment get the boot or a pat on the back.

Swansea City. Never change.

Oh wait, no please change

Not being funny but the ownership have spunked money on players so why can't they on a decent manager ffs?
Yep, somebody, somewhere, is full of shit, and it looks like the one person who wanted Hellberg over Sheehan in the summer was unceremoniously dumped out of the club. Interesting stuff.

So sounds like a panic after Hellberg had a u turn.

Then they had second thoughts after realising it was done in haste and feared a backlash if the appointment went wrong.

Sounds an absolute shambles but I could certainly believe that has happened.

Rabbits in the headlights spring to mind.

Not that i

I have no clue on the matter but how certain are we that Montague wanted Hellberg over Sheehan?
