• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Swansea City looked to be leading the chase for Werder Bremen left back Lee Buchanan but news filtered through in recent days that he was heading to the UK for a medical… and it wasn’t in Wales. Birmingham City announced his arrival yesterday for a figure thought to be around £1.3m leaving Michael...

I find it hard to believe Watson has signed up for this, we could well kick off the season without a left back.

Even after so called investment, nothing has changed.

Surely we are not dependent on Piroe going to get anyone in

Speaking to a Rams fan friend, I think us Swans fans are over reacting here - Buchanan was born and bred in Mansfield, and apart from one year in Germany he has played for Derby, lived in Derby, has family in Derby, and seems to be very settled in Derby. Birmingham is less than an hours drive from Derby. Can we really expect him to not prioritise Derby over Swansea in this case. Very often, as we were told in January, players just want to play and settle where their family is best settled and we shouldn't over react if players put family and life outside of football first. Move on to the next.

Looks like they're pushing for promotion, we will have a tough season

Coventry City are understood to be close to completing the signing of exciting Dutch Under-21 international Milan van Ewijk from SC Heerenveen.

The pacy wing-back – officially the fastest player in the Netherlands top flight Eredivisie – is reported to be joining the Sky Blues for a fee of around 4m Euros (£3.4m) with add-ons and a sell on clause.

If it's the case of him being offered a 5 year deal, then you can't blame him for taking it, or us not matching to be fair. Big financial commitment.

I thought we hired him on the basis of success under a strict, sustainable budget. We've already spent more this summer than Luton ever did while he was there. It's not the end of the world that the apparent top target got a better offer.

I’m old enough to remember when we had a tidy left back and let him go for nothing, the useless clowns

It’ll give us a nice balance. No natural fullbacks on either side.

Ah, we signed that bloke from Exeter didn’t we. Forgot about him. Let’s hope he can step up better than some of Martin’s League 1 buys.

Lewis to Watford confirmed

View to permanent after the loan, which is probably why we’re out, Newcastle payed 15M for him so would want a decent amount back.

Don't think that Lewis link was ever serious, was it?
What I refuse to believe is that there isn't one tidy out of contract left back in the whole of Europe that we couldn't bring in - which shouldn't be dependant on us selling our players first.

Fairly slim pickings:

George Cox, ex Brighton academy? 🤔

According to VitalSwansea we’re looking to Europe for our LB.
