Swansea are being linked with a move for 18 goal Sunderland striker Ross Stewart. The frontman, who was recently called up to the Scottish national team, has been in top form for Lee Johnson’s team who are pushing for a return to the Championship at the fourth time of asking. The Daily Record list...

Would struggle to see how we can afford this guy if I'm honest although I believe Russ was interested in him when he was at MK

Where’s all this cash coming from unless Piroe is off? O Riley Darling and this bloke would be at least 5M?

Not read article but surely would mean Piroe off, unless how could we afford.

I'm not even sure a Piroe sale would cover it.

I'm not even certain I buy that we have made contact - Russ is clearly a fan but he must know this is almost certainly out of our budget?

I replied to the article about this on the homepage.

Sunderland could value him at £6million given that the club stands to earn that extra per year if promotion from League 1 happens.

Realistically, £1million - 1.5million would be enough to get this over the line, with bonuses and add-ons based on goals, promotion, etc. That is roughly 5% of Sunderland's yearly turnover.

I can't see Swansea spending that. Then again, we loaned money against future fees owed by Spurs in the Rodon transfer - £5million I believe. It could be possible...

Yeah non starter surely.

Just shows how far we've fallen/ been finamcially mismanaged when the concenous of opinion is that we can't afford a Lg 1 player.

I know we are struggling for goals but dont you think we should try extra training before we hire a hitman?

Aye, anyone who believes that our finances are being poorly managed is sadly out of touch with reality.

We are struggling for goals not because the frontmen we have are inadequate, but our defense and midfield don't get the ball to them early enough. By the time they finish playing pretty on the edge and around our own penalty area the opposition has set their defense. Everyone can see that but won't complain about it because for some reason they think RM is always right, and that's the way he likes it. I believe we are not more than a couple short of a very good squad, but it's the way they are asked to play.

Why would he leave Sundo for us now? They are handily placed, are massive if they get promoted and he will have loads of Championship options if they don’t and he keeps scoring in league 1. Can’t see it. Stranger things have happened mind.

Not so sure about Whittaker but our current from of play did not suit Cullen. With 3 strikers I reckon we are okay and can go without a new striker. Real pace in two new wide men would speed us up we really need to replace Laird and the new guy won't do that. Save the money Swans.
