• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

So we have Cullen, Vip and Bianchini..

Is this trio good enough for this level?

No, none of these would have got near the starting line up when Piroe and Obafemi were here . As others have said, we sold all our better players and replaced them with crap.

Cullen is good for around 10 goals a season, which is decent given he’s usually in and out of the side.

Bianchini isn’t even a striker.

Vipotnik was supposed to be the main man this season, but looks like he might be the latest striking bust. Saying that, we’ve probably sent about 6 crosses his way in 6 months, so he could be Alan Shearer and we wouldn’t know.

I still like Vipotnik, but he's a finisher with limited all-round product who gets absolutely no chances. People can moan about his quality, but Llorente would score the same number of goals in this team
When he's not on the pitch we bang balls in to the box, when's he on the pitch we don't.

It's bizarre.

We don't really know if Vip could be a rola cola mitrovic as he has had virtually zero service since he arrived. He's probably on anti depressants, I know I wish I was yesterday afternoon

You can make a case for Vipotnik to an extent but when you compare him to Piroe, who made a lot of his goals for himself, you realise how awful he is. Top strikers should be able to find a way to impact games in some capacity, even if the rest of the side isn't quite set up as they might like. It's excuse making to talk about the lack of delivery. He's like a statue mun.

Ffs move around more, run a bit, try and work the channels, drop deep to try and link play, try some different stuff. Look at yourself first, ask what more you could be doing. It's not too much to ask.

Williams often saying he's unreal in training and will come good once he adjusts, but plays him for 20 mins here and there

Then when he does come on we stop crossing balls into the box which is his strrengh

It's all a bit barmy

'Unreal' could mean anything, even before you factor in the fact that Williams is an absolute quilt.

We could also try playing to his strengths. At university I was so gash at general play that I was told in no uncertain terms that my job was just to stick the ball in the net whenever it came anywhere near me. It actually worked pretty well for everyone. If the ball had never come near me I might as well have been in the pub.

Fair points, and if you had to put your money on whether he's actually really good but we haven't seen it yet, or he's just not very good, the latter is probably your safest option at this stage.

That being said, I think it still remains the case that we don't even try to play to the limited strengths he has. He's supposed to be here to be the goalscorer; scoring goals is kinda the point of football, so maybe we should work on some 'box entries' that suit the guy there to score the goals.
