Given Snoops comment about getting top artists to do concerts at the stadium I suspect we are buying the stadium in the Summer

A 15000 crowd for a top concert generates 2m in revenue on ticket prices alone.

Run 5 concerts a year and thats a cool 10m plus

Although the immediate cost is high, owning a stadium transforms a football club from merely a sports team into a year-round entertainment real estate business

Leaving aside the notion that the stadium would get 2m in revenue from a concert (that’s about 5 times more than Wembley gets for hosting a concert ) the club already get the rental fees from concerts since it bought Stadco.

In reality, the stadium gets a fee from the promoter for holding a concert there, not the ticket sales.

The ticket sales normally go to the artist after their management has forked out for hiring the venue.

Looks as if routine maintenance of the Stadium has started recently with painting of the pillars .

You’re not getting “top artists” in a stadium the size of ours. There are arenas bigger than that in cities far more lucrative than Swansea.
In fairness, they have had some big artists in the stadium over the years, Killers, Elton John , JLS Rod Stewart, Pink, Lionel Ritchie.

The club could get a decent gig at the stadium with a band or band(s) who fit into the 15k capacity. Bands like the Manics or Stereophonics would be a good fit considering where they are now.

Manics played here recently. Stereophonics sold out the Principality for two nights running last summer.

I’m not sure the Manics are a stadium band these days. Last Swansea gig was in the arena and I’m not sure that sold out.

I was there and I'm pretty certain it sold out. I booked tickets as soon as they were available and it was doing that thing where you'd select seats and they'd be gone before you could checkout, so there was definitely plenty of demand.

Even so, if they're playing 3,500 attendance venues like the Arena, that would suggest that you're right and a venue like our stadium is too big for them these days.

Next stop Chepstow Racecourse, like Len Ritchie (he was utter shite, Mrs M informs me)

Actually they added a second date so you’re probably right.
