• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

In an 'In Your Area' email I received yesterday I noticed that the South Wales Guardian have reported a 35 year old Bont woman was convicted at Cardiff Magistrates Court of a driving offence.

In April she was caught doing 26mph in a 20 mph zone on the main street leading out of Bont towards Swansea. She received 3 penalty points on her licence, and fined over £300 including costs...

Points and a big fine for doing just 26mph! It's just nuts.

Be careful PS members of Mobile Speed Traps in 20mph zones....

Or just pay attention to your speed, it could save a pedestrians life.

Iv'e been done twice in the last 18 months, 22mph outside convent in Clydach and 23mph outside Comp in Birchgrove

Cyclists are overtaking cars in these zones, even wheelchairs are!🤣😂

I wish here in Wales we'd adopt what some counties in England do and that is have "It's 20mph for a reason" under the speed limit sign.

So much ignorance on the roads today.

Plus whilst we are at it, how many people do you see not looking ahead but looking at their laps when driving?, They obviously are on their phones.

And they spend billions to get people from Birmingham to London 20 mins quicker

All the time. notice it virtually everyday on M4 even at speed, ridiculous.

NPCC guidance for police speed enforcement used to be 10% plus 2. Did you get fixed penalty notices?

Loads of drivers done in Belgrave Road, Gorseinon in the past 9 months or so, many of them doing 22mph.
I’m all for the 20mph in built up areas and outside schools etc but there are a few exceptions, for example there’s a 30mph limit on the Trostre bypass road between Loughor and Llanelli, there’s not a house or any other building within half a mile of the road..it’s bloody ridiculous.

30 mph limit between loughor and trostre ? No chance

From the end of Loughor Bridge along the Binea bypass it’s 60mph limit, if you bear left at the first roundabout it is then 30mph limit along the Trostre bypass.

Yes, if you turn left there , thought you meant going straight along which is a B road with no street lights and so a 60 mph limit

No. They did that to get bigger trains so that more people can use them. Nothing wrong with that.

I drove back into Bont through the 20mph zone described in my OP this morning.....All of a sudden I had some tool appear in my wing mirror and proceed to tailgate me within 1 or 2 feet of my bumper. I was doing about 22-23 mph. I slowed down to 20, only for him/her to appear to get even closer.

I had to turn right to get home and gave them the wnkr gesture. Hard as fk I am. Honest!
