Yep...I know...the pressure is really on on this one. I love both, and have 500g of lean beef mince to use up Saturday evening.....What should I cook boys and girls?

Got to be a chilli, Bryn. Half rice, half chips, a healthy bowl of tortilla chips, maybe a small wrap or two and a good blob of sour cream. Oh, and a few cold Star.

I'm with you on that Cwps. I still haven't done your doner recipe, but I will next week as I bought a new baking tin today.

Don’t scrimp on the spice. I think I wrote in the thread about doubling up on the quantity of spice.

I’d go with the chilli too. Mrs Mute (don’t tell her) does a great chilli and also a great spaghetti bolognese. She has an Italian brother in law and uses the family recipe for the bolognese which is wonderful, and with slight tweaks her chilli is superb as well.
Of course a cold beer/lager has to be added to enhance the meal. 😋

Get another pack and make spag bol. Then with the leftovers, alter it to chilli the night after. Win/win.
Top tip, dry fry the mince and get rid of the liquid given off before adding your Oxo, tomato puree etc. Keep frying for a minute or two so the dry mince is starting to sizzle before adding some red wine, which the mince will absorb. Keep adding wine until mince stops absorbing it.

It's got to be chili, Bryn. As well as using my home grown birds eye chilis, I put in a good dose of fresh grated ginger. Luverly jubelee.

Tough one. I enjoy eating spag bol most of the two but I enjoy cooking chilli more. Mmmmm, tough choice.
