I didn’t know that either.

Don’t be so bloody moronic. Or course it’s an offensive term. It has been for at least as long as you’ve been an adult.

People need to differentiate between terms that are offensive and terms that used to be in common usage within a society where racism was pretty much acceptable.

Back in the 1960‘ies before the 1968 Olympics, my Mum used to work in a hotel owned by an old aristocrat from London. She was told never to ask a guest whether they wanted a black or white coffee but rather whether they wanted with milk or without. This was to avoid any potentially awkward situation.
