His new show on Netflix, worth sticking with?

I watched the first 20 minutes and thought it was crap, does it get any better? I'm not a Gervais fan mind, the only thing I genuinely enjoyed was his other Netflix show, After Life.

I watched it all in 2 sections. I thought it was a bit meh tbh. Yes we know you like to shock and be controversial Ricky, but time to evolve I think.

On the other hand, I thought After Life was absolutely brilliant.

The office was great , extras was a bit hit and miss , haven't seen after life , his hosting of the golden globes was legendary , very honest guy , always interesting to hear his views on things in interviews , another thing to like about him, he despises trump and his supporters 😊

You should watch After Life, one of the best things I've seen on the tellybox.

He's got a platform now to preach after his successes and millions in the bank.
He just reminds me of the guy in work who thinks he's above everyone else and knows all the inner workings of the world.

He's kind to animals and that's ok with me

It's strange that some people just don't do it for you. I've never found RG funny at all and I found the little I saw of The Office embarrassing. It just made me cringe. I don't have Netflix so can't comment on Afterlife.

Think that is what The Office set out to do , similar to Extras ,appearing to put people down .

Not seen any of his stand up stuff though .

I watched it up until his ‘joke’ about the dead baby, then turned it off.

One of the funniest blokes I worked with went to a military dinner once, anyway he let a ripper go near the vicinity of Sir Rex Hunt's table...."I say you broke wind in front of my wife!"

He replied " I'm ever so sorry, I didn't know it was her turn"

I've been told After life is a decent watch, think my lad has watched it, but I see RG's name attached and its put me off.

If anyone enjoyed Afterlife then watch Derek....another masterpiece.
As for Supernature, he's right when he says...if it's not for you, don't fckn watch it.
Personally think he's brilliant in anything he does.

After Life is brilliant, makes me cry and laugh. The Office is seminal although the USA ended up doing it better. Extras was good too. I haven’t seen this one but I will. The gammon seem to love it mind. They might have been too excited to miss the bit at the end.

“Full disclosure: In real life of course I support trans rights,” Gervais explained. “I support all human rights, and trans rights are human rights. Live your best life. Use your preferred pronouns. Be the gender that you feel you are.”

And this apparently at the beginning

“(Irony) means I say something I don’t really mean, for comic effect, and you, as an audience, you laugh at the wrong thing because you know what the right thing is.”

I think I would like to watch After life but I'd be reduced to tears ....I don't watch comedians for that. I need a laugh, a reall belly laugh.
The dafter the better 👍

You’ll get both with After Life. Nailed on. Watch it. You won’t regret it.
