I kind of guessed something was serious when I kept seeing cancellations recently and a few months ago. I met him once whilst working on a tv ad campaign website which he starred in. Funny off stage as on and loved to crack a joke or two.

He wasn't a real close mate but about 15 years ago he went into business with a friend I've known for 34 years, longer than I've known my wife in fact, and I popped in to see him whenever I was in the Reading area and got to know his business partner well. He had an ST at Reading and once smuggled me and my mate into the Madejski Hotel when the Swans were playing so we could have the joys of a pre-match pint @ £6 and that was about 10 years ago, must be a tenner by now. My mate was in the car with him and is still in hospital in a pretty bad way but not life-threatening fortunately. Only found out about this about 8 hours ago and still a bit shocked tbh.
Back on the original thread, sad to hear about Rhod G. I loved his Award Winning Mince Pie show. My sister died of a brain tumour in July of last year about 8 weeks after being admitted to hospital.
