• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

The flooding that happened in Monmouth had nothing to do with drains.

I mean, for God’s sake.
No, but flooding elsewhere has. Let's all pay even more council tax and get absolutely fuck all out of it shall we? It's ok though they'll paint some more rainbows for us!

Astonishing. The Monnow has never broken its banks like this, flood defences in place….but drains.
To be absolutely clear, I never once mentioned the flooding in Monmouth was down to drains. Lisa doing her usual.

Hope all ok.

Meanwhile the 2030 deadline still looms with absolutely no real progress on a solution for those of us who can't charge a car at home...

If anything they're making things worse.

We don't have a driveway and I offered to cover the costs installation of a home charger and what else is needed to pilot roadside charging (we have residents parking outside the house). The council turned my offer down

Our street has residents parking but outside our house isn't marked as one of the residents bays so 'randoms' are forever parking there - more often than not I can't park outside my own house 🤷‍♂️

Ours is marked and we get the same issue, I've lost count how many times I've got home from work and some car is parked outside that I've never seen before.

The council have sent someone up to book cars without permits which was midday on a Wednesday. The issue is evening and weekends 🤔

The thing that irritates me the most is every year I need to upload countless forms of ID to prove my car is actually mine in order to get a permit.

To be fair to them the council patrols have generally been early morning or after 5, hasn't made any difference though.
Bloke across the road seems to have a sideline selling cars he picks up in auctions so he'll use one as a daily driver until he sells it & never gets a permit - often parked outside ours 🤬

First world problems! Still does my nut in, though 🤯
