I know they aren't healthy for you, but now and again it has to be done. Millions agree judging by the sales of them.

Anyway, as I ate a tasteless, awful Gregg's pasty earlier, when I should be thinking " This is so unhealthy, eat some salad and go for a long walk " , I was instead thinking, there must be better tasting pasties available locally.

I think a 'medium ' size, Jenkins cornerd beef pasty has the edge over Greggs corned beef, but still the guilt of eating is not won over due to the average bland taste.

Is there a pasty for sale in Swansea area that is actually tasty and you can forgive yourself for eating it.

I usually go for corned beef, Cornish considered. Cheese too sickly.

Thanks in advance for your help and sensible replies.

Personally I find Mavis Davies pasties absolutely banging! Don't like their pies, but the pasties are full of taste.

Where is this Mavies Davies place. Which pasties are the best ? Corned beef, Cornish, Another ?

Market innit? My sister was going on about this place.

My Corned beef onesare epic if I don't say back in the day though eynons were the best........

Used to love the pasties from the garage at Knelston. The day was never the same if I didn't have one while passing it.

For a National Standard I think West Cornwall large traditional is my go to pastie. Many's the Friday night I've bumbled drunkenly into London Bridge or Victoria station after a work night out and with auto pilot on bought one for the journey home. Sometimes woke up at my stop covered in pastry flakes but at least I had noone sitting by me.

Will read this thread with interest as I don't have a clue about local Swansea pasties, but I'm back for a few days from later today. Have to go to the market in the week anyway

Macphersons on Oxford Street were undoubtedly the best pasties i have ever tasted.

Sweetman's had the best corned beef pasties. Sadly they demised a few years back. But I can taste the rosemary they added even now😋

Nothing wrong with a Gregg’s pasty. Although they call them “corned beef bakes” for some reason. Probably pee cee gone mad or something.

Mavis Davis Medium corned beef pasty, about 4 for 2 quid - amazing

Yeah are the dogs doodahs, saved me last night, after the missis making an abysmal tea! There was only one left from earlier in day, but fuck was I thankful for it.

Edit. Due to spelling missis wrong, I spelt it millsis,

 Not taking the piss, but that made me laugh. If that’s deliberate I take my hat off.

What abysmal tea did your missus, sorry missis, cook that was that awful. How can a tea become abysmal , what went wrong?

Having a great pastie as a back up is always a good option. I am searching for the right one. I will try a Mavis Davis one next week.

I am not going to start a pasty or pastie thread as it may have been done before.

Which is it ?
