My son sent me this photo he took earlier using macro mode.

It has actually lost some resolution in the transfer.
 
Thanks for posting, great pictures.
Also got me thinking about my phone and I’ve now discovered it has similar functionality which is great news as it will assist a family member who has to send the occasional image of a skin condition to the GP.

Well, may I ask what you expected to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically...?

it was a boring shot that is all, I have re looked at the photo, the clarity is great, and it must be a good camera, but it's still a boring shot. No offence
