Seems a good lad and from the reports i have read from Hibs fans very humble hard working player who is not afraid to get stuck in.

Looking forward to seeing him on the pitch.

I see we are continuing with the new 3 years +1 on option contract approach which I am a huge fan of after the difficulties we have been left in now with Piroe.

I’d say this is a ‘next level’ level of signing.

Something to get even more excited about.

Proper fans will be excited and applauding our ambishun in stumping up proper, proper big bucks for this top Watson-esque hidden gem.

A carefully considered, measured, canny investment.

Less proper fans and the usual unthinking types will no doubt be doing the precise opposite, as per…..quelle surprise.

Well done Watson, Andy Colesman et al.

Which category do you fall into or are you just the judge of said fans?

The injuries last season will be a concern, but we've got the numbers to ease him in. Lee Johnson criticised him for being too brave and trying to play through a back problem early last season which led to time on the sidelines. Then the MCL over winter, and further "muscular issues" causing him to miss the u21s Euros.

Anyone watch the game last night? Did he look decent when he came on?

Seemed to put himself about, very mobile and surprisingly quick for a big lad, look forward to seeing more of him.

Looked OK, few things he tried didn't come off but put himself about, didn't get any chances.

Overshadowed by Ginnelly who shone and got in a few goalscoring areas and would have got more with a bit more luck.

Something which has always puzzled me is the oft trotted out ‘he’s got a great touch for a big lad’.

Why do people say this? It’s just a lazy phrase that people think they should say about a tall player.

Why shouldn’t a tall player have skills? It’s never said about small players is it?

There was tons of people saying it on Twitter last night.

And at what height does a player become a ‘big lad’ and therefore qualify for this saying?

Depends how long you’ve been watching football I suppose. Shorter players are often considered to have a lower centre of gravity and are therefore more stable when twisting and turning with the ball, whereas its the direct opposite with taller players, hence why they have been traditionally been pigeonholed as battering rams. It’s not really rocket science, more common sense really.

Not bothered about what is considered. Anything scientific to back any of it up or it’s just lazy soundbytes. Common sense doesn’t come into it.

Maradona was surprisingly good in the air for a small player mind, just ask Shilts
