My first little job after Uni was working for Welsh Glass in that building in early 1992. The camaraderie on the shop floor was sensational. Our house still has double glazed units made on site. I used to get called out in the middle of the night to open up the factory if a plate was put through somewhere so the guys could get their boarding up gear. Good old days. Dai Beynon was the chain-smoking boss. Hell of a boy he was.

No. What a strange query. I still know what Georgian Polished Plate is though, or standard Pilkington patterns, like Tulip or Mayflower you see everywhere. I couldn't wait to leave to a more amusing life in Bristol and Bath. Ho hum
