He’s a very good player when I’ve seen him would be happy with him

30 appearances and no goals last season in League One.

I would remind people that Mark Gower never scored a single goal for us, neither did Hourihane on his loan spell under Cooper's last season with us.

Neither of those were bad players, in Gower's case I had never seen a player hit the woodwork so many times without scoring.

I might be thinking of the wrong lad, the one who always looked sharp but never scored.
Yeah I am, its the one from Cooper's first season that we loaned the same time we loaned Brewster.
Be damned if I can remember his name though.

EDIT:
Conor Gallagher that's it. The one who has had a flyer with Palace last season.

Mark Gower scored at least one for us. A belter it was too against Norwich.

Ah right fair enough.

Not that worried about this lads lack of goals, as long as he has an engine, and has a bit of quality, 6 assists I believe which also isn’t great to be honest, our wing backs need to be our main source of assists with how we play.

Would never argue with the quality of Mark Gower but his stats in League One were far different.

Lynden Gooch has 20 in 180 career appearances at the age of 26. No doubting he could be great and may be viewed as a wing back but it's not prolific unlike Gower who had been before.

Ah yes looking on transfermarkt he scored 3 goals in 145 league appearances against QPR, Hull and Norwich. None in over 100 games after his last goal vs QPR (his only goal in our promotion season).

Wing back cover both sides of the park, I think he’d be a decent option on a free

You have those the wrong way around, Gower scored against QPR 09/10 season and against Norwich 10/11 promotion season we needed to win to stop Norwich pulling away from us it was in the April and Gower scored the following week against Hull which was his last goal for us.

He was a real marmite player i quite liked him but a lot of fans hated him for some reason.

You’d think having been in Sunderland since he was 15, with a young family, a 2 year contract would be off putting? He’s coming in because he wants to work with Martin apparently so maybe that explains the 2 year deal
