Someone just tweeted this.
It’ll be interesting if true that the paper knew before him.

If it wasn't for his playing career there, he'd be long gone already given how they've treated previous managers.

It's interesting comparing two managers who were handed the top job at two of the biggest clubs in the country and seeing their contrasting fortunes. Solskjaer was as lucky to get the United job as Lampard was to get the Chelsea job, but he seems to have grabbed his opportunity to be fair. I suppose it helps when you sign Fernandes as opposed to Werner and Havertz.

Exclusive: Thomas Tuchel is going to take over
@ChelseaFC
, according to Sky sources. It’s almost a done deal. Frank Lampard is going to be sacked today #TransferUpdate
@Sky_Marc

Surely that's not why Tuchel didn't go to Cardiff? Or did big Mick turn Chelsea down?

Wondering if Wolves are looking for a change, apart from them hard to think where else in the PL he could go ?
Can see why patience has run out, wide open title race but Chelsea don't look like they are in it.

Cardiff must be gutted to find out if they waited they could have had Lampard.

But, but, but it’s Frank Lampard’s Chelsea mun.

Gone.

If it wasn't for his playing career there he would never have got the job in the first place

Yes. No way was he going to any Johnny Come Lately club when he could grab the plum job at 1927 Athletic.

They’ve got a big poster up at the Chelsea ground:

Lampard: Then, Now, Forever.

They’ll have to take it down now then.
