Had to go to Kidwelly this morning for Gravells to have a look at our Kia... Haven't been there since I was a kid...

I spent a very pleasant 3 hours or so walking around the little town with it's quite extraordinary castle (which was shut). It really is a lovely little place, and included the rugby club where the mighty Keith Floyd once cooked Cawl with Ray Gravelle for Keith's TV series, and the rugby field where Keith staged a try, and where my father once didn't need to.

A nice place to live I think.

Did you see the Parc y Bocs. farm / pet shop owned by Burns pet nutrition?
They have a very nice restaurant now. Cracking Sunday lunch there.
3 pubs have shut there in last 18 months. The fishermans, white lion and masons.
The castle is undervalued.
Gravels have been around since the late 1920's and I always have good service with them.

Talking of Gravells, I visited the Swansea showroom a couple of weeks ago looking at the new Kia Sportage for the missus. Terrible! When the salesman eventually approached us he seemed uninterested and was clueless about the cars they sold 🙄 Is the Kidwelly showroom better or are there others which are decent? TIA

Samba, in Kiwelly they are a different breed, never a problem there.
Ask for Gareth Postlethwaite.

Roger that, thank you 👍

Sad, they used to be truly excellent. Had the recent Sporty from there, also for missus and she loved it. Prefers the Pug 3008 she's got now, but haven't seen the new sporty. One thing about the Kia. She put petrol in (it was diesel) and drove 30 miles. It died when it got home - she hadn't realised and the RAC bloke that drained it said - 'it'll be fine, you can't break these things, not like those german shitboxes' (pointing at my beemer  ). So even though the Pug does seem like a step up in interior quality, you can't beat that Kia engine. Also 7 years warranty and good value service packages. I'd have another or the Hyundai equivalent.

I have had a Piccanto from new, which is two and a half years old now and the air conditioning wasn’t giving cold air. I took it to Llansamlet and they told me that it needed re-gassing and the warranty on that was only two years not seven. I suggested that it was ridiculous that it needed gas after only this short a time, after all, fridge units run for many years, and they said that it would be done free of charge. So I’ll have to check in about eighteen months and make sure it’s still ok. It’s only done 11500 miles so even if I had the aircon on all the time it seems odd that the gas had gone. Otherwise, Gravells have been fine, gave me a good deal when buying it.

Sorry Dicko... I didn't see the Farm shop, but I did have a decent bacon roll and flat white in the little tea shop. Kia were great. They checked the multimedia problem, checked the car over and identified a few issues and washed it, all free of charge. I dealt with Leanne and Paul.

Ta Dicko.... I've had a look at the Parc y Bocs website and it does look like an excellent place, with some top quality wares,.......
unlike the continuing debasement that is the Cwmcerrig Farm Shop near Cross Hands. Their continual stream of 1 star reviews on Trip Adviser are hilarious.....

Cwm misery!!! Haven't set foot in the place for years..... miserable staff, out of date stock not to mention over priced.
Some staff that aren't miserable are mutes!!

Always a problem with the carvery and roast potato allowance 😂🤣

Kidwelly was named after an Irish cowboy apparently. Don’t know if it’s true mind.

I don’t have staff these days, I retired a couple of years ago. 😉

Mrs used to work in Kidwelly and knows John Burns and some of the family, she says they’re really tidy people and do loads for the community. Really good employers.

I was seeing a Burns employee a couple of months back and couldn't believe some of the things he's done. He sounds like a fantastic employer and hell of a man
