Just finished watching this 5 part drama by Russell T Davies about a group of friends, gay and straight, living through the start of the AIDS outbreak. Incredibly frank and moving, following the way that the disease was perceived as “the gay disease “ and the fear and uncertainty of the whole of the public.
Wonderfully written and acted, and including the “real” Jill, who was a good friend of Russell, who played the mother of the “actress “ Jill.
Anyone else seen the series?

Russell is talented. His father was an All White and taught my old man at Bishop Gore. Even in his late 80's and nearly blind he still would be at St. Helen's and remembered my dad.

Watched the first two episodes so far - very well written, will be watching another one when Mrs S comes in and tells me I have to stop watching the football

Weve seen the first 2, decided against a binge watch and saving it for every Friday. Brilliant so far

Spoiler alert.
There seems to be a lot of sand blowing around your room towards the end. 😢

What's the best?

Russel T Davies came to my nephew's wedding in London a few years ago. It's the first gay wedding I have been to and also by far the best wedding I have been to.

The speech my nephew made about the people from different generations who made days like this possible was incredibly moving.
