• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Is Luke Williams time up at Swansea City - will Baggies links be the end?

LW isn't the brightest when it comes to public facing PR.

He could have responded with " my focus is here during a busy Xmas period of games to progress the group "

That would have covered his back and diverted the reporters to some degree.

There is no doubt though he would take the Albion job if offered following in the footsteps of RM working up the leagues without any notable success at this level.

A particular highlight was when he mentioned Rushworth had signed on for another year.

It is getting to a stage where I'll be disappointed if he stays.

To be honest the way it’s playing out he’s burnt bridges with a lot of fans in my opinion, it’ll be tough to come back from this if he doesn’t move.

Majority of the fans will have the same apathy towards him as they did Martin during his twenty odd games without a win.

He reminds me of myself a bit. I get the impression he's trying a bit too hard to remain casual and 'cool', meaning the words that come out of his mouth aren't really the ones he's thinking of in his brain.

I could 100% see myself saying something like 'if WBA owners were here today, they wouldn't be touching me!' as a little joke to try and break the tension without thinking through the actual connetations of what I'm saying - full disclosure that I'm not a professional football manager (sorry!).

All that being said, would be pretty keen for WBA to take him.

He gets paid an awful lot of money and has been doing this job at various levels for a long time. The way he deals with the media should be a lot better than this.

I don't disagree, I'm not defending him.

It's something I've noticed since day one of him being here, he stumbles on his words and says the literal wrong thing quite often.

It's tough though, as he's a bit of a character, and I find myself moaning about the sanitsation and lack of characters in football, so feel harsh critiquing him for being a bit different - appreciate that he's not exactly Brian Clough, personality wise

It’s just mental, next manager please don’t fist pump or sing YJB to the fans, but then again Duff didn’t and he got pelters for saying he’d rather promotion than beating Cardiff.

Beat WBA and many will be demanding he gets a new improved contract to keep him!

Football fans (me included) are stupid about their club one way or another.

I’d had enough of him long before yesterday, but would have happily swallowed it if we’d kept on improving and winning, and will do if we start improving and winning again. I don’t think we will though. Not sure that’s all his fault now mind…the lazy sackless overpaid lot on the pitch have far too much form for winning a couple and then having a day off. They seem happy to do that and take their barrowloads of cash. His and Martins style of play will always be garbage though, so he’s never going to change anything.

I’d be astonished if WBA really want anything to do with him after reflecting on it. They can’t surely be that stupid.

He's been dealing with the media for a long time. The way he acts as if he's an interim manager thrown in front of the cameras for the first time.

I'm all for characters and personalities in life. I wouldn't want my CEO waffling shit like this fella does half the time.

It is quite a worrying trend how many supporters get hypnotised by this type of thing. A few fist pumps, drinks on Wind Street after beating Cardiff.

Fans often overlook shit performances because the gaffer "gets the club".

We haven't improved from the day he rocked up, the football on offer is awful, I can't arsed watching the game from the comfort of my front room most of the time let alone dragging myself to the concrete dome in Landore.

I honestly can't believe West Brom are in for him either. The only shred of hope is Southampton and Martin.

A goal conceded to the rush press against Luton, and nearly cost the win, a goal conceded to the rush press against Portsmouth (OK, it was the last one, so hardly important).

Every time he experiments with the back line these goals start leaking again, and he keeps experimenting.

3 points for WBA Saturday and he might just get the job.
''Less going forward lads and more short dangerous passes around our area.'' (If that is possible of course).
