23 games including a 2 game cup run is a fair barometer of where your team is and for anyone to be able to take a clear picture of the past and what is to come in the future. Three wins from that amount of games, two of which came against ten men for long […]

Jesus wept, why have I got this feeling that they think to get relegated wouldn't be that bad. At least Russ will then find his level ( even dispute that!). Steve probably thinks we'll bounce back stronger.

Someone tell me I've got that wrong.

I genuinely think he'll be gone at the end of the season.
I might then consider renewing.
Trouble is I'm so detached from watching us now that I probably won't.

It's gone on too long already..I hope we are sounding out replacements for next season.. that said, we are still very much in trouble this season

We are currently 100/1 on betfair to be relegated.
Have just stuck a tenner on that cos I honestly think we arnt gonna win 2 games for safety.
Odds are very generous considering.

I'm really surprised Planet Swans are going down this route, with articles like this.

Phil, no offence at all, you know I have a lot of time for you and what you have given to the club over the years, but I'm not having you no longer speak to people still within the club, friendships you've made over the years etc, you know what's going on down there and how much of a sh*t show it is and the conditions the players and staff are working under. We're trying to force out a manager dealing with all that, what's the end game?

Edit - I realise it's Rob Davies who wrote the article, and fair dos to you Rob you're more than entitled to your opinion, as we all are, I have no issues with that, but as I said in original post I'm surprised Planet Swans, as a site, are going down this route of publishing articles like this.

It wasn't Phil that wrote the article Risc. It was me.

These are my views and I honestly stand by them. There is little doubt that there is a lot going on behind the scenes down there but I can't quite believe the amount of excuses still being generated for a manager who is more than willing to bury his own players to save his own skin. Every single time.

This is a manager that has been supported with over 20 signings and has spent over £8m to get us to 17th twice. That is not acceptable and if he isn't capable of dealing with what goes on behind the scenes then he should have walked a while ago. It was hardly like he thought he was coming into a rosy club when we know the issues Cooper and Potter had before him.

He backed himself and he's failed. First it was no pre season, now it's not having the right tools to do the job. If we had signed the players he wanted the excuse would be long bus journeys, too many new signings to bed in and being a young team.

Surely you see, regardless of the ownership and the shape of the club, we deserve better? Cardiff are in a far worse shape as a club yet their form has been better since a new manager was appointed. Stop being so brainwashed Risc.

The bulk of that money you talk about, the players have left, both for profit, and replaced by no one. Who do we have left? Piroe, Darling and Fisher. Piroe arrived before he came and has been a success, Darling was a club signing, Russ was used in the negotiations due his contacts with MK, he will come good, as he did yesterday. Fisher, as I said in a thread earlier, looks to be a bad one and Russ can't have many complaints with the criticism coming his way over it. He brought in Downes who we made a fortune on.

It's nothing, not even close, to the issues Potter and Cooper had before him. All his excuses are valid. It's not being brainwashed, it's knowing his difficult a job he's got on our hands.

As for Cardiff being in a worse shape than us, we'll see.

"Martin's team produced an impressive performance at Millwall, but the defensive lapses which have been an issue for much of the season once again cost them dear."

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/64960165

Defensive lapses!!!! we havethe 2nd highest possesion in the league with the 3rd amount of goals conceded they're not lapses we just can't defend.

Impressive performance!?! Watford was an impressive performance. The media has been far too soft on him as have some fans.

We need rid now or at the end of the season. We need to be proactive in stopping this slide towards League 1.This summer is huge for the club there's no excuses left for Board,Chairman and Manager.

*Winter and the Trust may aswell fuck off spineless money grabbers who have no influence in the club whatsoever*

3 wins in half a season and the Manager and the media are telling us not to boo or jeer, fucking get real any other club would've hounded him out by now. This is not acceptable at any level of professional football.

Of course he's got a difficult job. But one he's failing drastically with. Can you really compare the quality in our squad to that at Cardiff ro Rotherham for two? I don't think you can.

Yes we should have signed a right back but instead we signed a player who Russ worked for before, Sorinola, when we already had two other left backs. Sorinola despite people saying is cheap, he'll be on decent money in Belgium of which we are probably paying the majority of.

You have dismissed all the loan signings that were so awful or mismanaged. We are in desperate need of pace yet Oko-Flex hardly played? Wood, Ntcham, Ogbeta etc. We can't count Downes as a good signing by him and then disregard others as being signed by others.

It's a mess but a lot of Championship clubs are in a state. And we can't keep allowing Martin to make excuses. If we are in the bottom three next season because Martin says he didn't get the players he wanted, what would you say then?

Yeah, I think you can, easilly. Cardiff have an experienced side, one of there better players wanted to join here but we pulled the plug, and went for better money down there. They have strong loanees in, as they did last year, they've signed an experienced champ striker for close to £2m in Robinson, Kipre, Ng, Allsopp, Ralls, all experienced championship players. Rotherham I don't know as much about but we'd kill for the likes of Ogbene and Fosu.

You know for a fact Sorinola is on "decent money" do you? Nathan Wood is a 20 year old boy being asked to play centre half week after week, look at the likes of Lenihan and Mcnair at Boro, experienced heads, we haven't got the resources to bring players of that like in. Martin is here to bring youngsters in and make assets.

Lets see where we are next season, i'll judge the transfer window on merit, as I did with January, a complete carve up which has completely screwed us.

I don't think anyone is disputing that we're a bit of a basket case behind the scenes at the moment, or that we're a fairly tough gig, but you could say that about nearly all of the clubs in the Championship.

With fair certainty, I would say that without Martin's crazy style of suicide possession football, putting the players at his disposal wildly out of their comfort zones, we would be higher up the table. I'm not saying that we'd be in the playoffs, but we'd likely not have the awful record of 3 wins in 23. The signing of Fisher was dreadful and without the injury to Benda he'd still be warming the bench. Absolutely mental that Martin wanted to spend money on him with the selling point that he is great with his feet. I've seen nothing to suggest that he is any better than any keeper that we've had in recent years. This signing is almost literally dragging us down in to the relegation spots.

If we had the money to get rid, I'd have no doubt that we would have by now. RM is one of the most stubborn managers I've ever witnessed and his footballing ideas will not work outside of a top-PL club. He needs to change, but he won't. It's no surprise that when he had a slight tinker with our style a couple of months ago, our results improved.

We've had Naughton sitting on the bench most of the season to be fair.

Martin loves to go on about how young and inexperienced the team is but he could alleviate this to some extent by playing the more experienced players more often.

The likes of Naughton (34), Ntcham (27), Manning (26), Fulton (28), Grimes (27), Allen (33) and Paterson (31) may not play every game but they are in and around the squad on a daily basis so it's not as if we have a squad of kids with no older heads to advise them, despite what the manager would have us believe

That's me done with this club until him and the owners are gone.

Don't see the issue here. The answer to the question posed is self evident. The answer is, as long as we have a ridiculous talentless imposter as a manager, a hopeless talentless nothing as a chairman and talentless owners that don't seem to understand football or business and can't bring any cohesion to the club.

Oh, and talentless turds littering the pitch and getting picked again and again by said talentless imposter.
