Who was arrested on suspicion of child sex offences. Cleared, all charges dropped.

(Note: Changed title as newspaper won't put name for legal reasons)

"The 33-year-old man who was arrested in connection with an investigation opened in June 2021 will face no further action. The investigation team and Crown Prosecution Service have been working together and reached the decision that the evidence available at this time does not reach the threshold set out on (sic) the Code for Crown Prosecutors."

Out of contract, may be worth a cheeky offer

Innocent until proven guilty.
Get him back (if this unnamed player was ever here before)

Youth team coach?
Maybe with the help of Wood, he can teach them to be good at defending the back :o

He wasn't charged Lisa, innocent man.
Would you have us stay away from anyone who had a less than whiter than white background (proven or otherwise)?

I'll admit that I haven't read in to the case, but if he's innocent, what is the issue? A genuine question and not loaded...just interested why you'd have an issue with it.

Charges dropped equates to innocent man in my book, unfortunately many disagree, the likes of Gylfi will be relieved the days of public lynching's are long gone in the civilised world...

Charges dropped literally doesn't mean innocent though does it? It means that CPS didn't have a strong enough case to be confident of a guilty verdict.

Mason Greenwood had the charges dropped, but considering the audio that was out there, I wouldn't want him anywhere near my club.

I don't know much about the Gylfi case, but given what he was accused of, I'd want any club to do some pretty intensive investigations before even thinking of offering him a contract.

That's a fair point and something that hadn't crossed my mind...but I do think that if there wasn't enough evidence for something, then that is surely that?

I suppose if people want to dislike someone over anecdotes and rumours (again I've not looked into the case) then that is their prerogative...but it's not equivalent or even similar to suggesting that we sign a convicted paedophile...

I'd refer again to Greenwood for your first paragraph. He may not have been charged, so he's not guilty of anything, but apparently that audio is pretty damning (have chosen not to listen to it personally). No idea what evidence there was against Gylfi, but given what he was accused of, I'd want any football club to do their due diligence before making a move for him.

I'd absolutely love to have a player of Gyfli's ability playing for us next season, no doubt about that.

And most definitely doesn't mean he's guilty, plenty, both men and women have been wrongly accused of committing a crime...
