im obviously the only one who doesnt think hes that bad..

not amazing but certainly better than Hamer. Yes he has some poor passes but he probably makes twice as many as hamer would so more scope for mistake there

If he's Martin's man.. then we'll stay in this division..

Can't collect crosses
Suicidal passes
Nonexistent saving capabilities
Decision making unbelievably poor

We might as well stick Naughton in the sticks

That's how I feel. He is simply not a goalkeeper. He does nothing that goalkeepers need to do.

Yep your the only one.

I can’t remember the last time we had a keeper I had such little faith in…

… he just doesn’t seem like a decent shot stopper - which is the primary role of a goalkeeper.

He doesn’t command the area, his positioning is terrible and his distribution isn’t even that good.

Benda was a quality shot stopper and came well for crosses.

Wouldn't let him in the car park Saturday let alone anywhere else.

Watching the game yesterday, I'd say his main fault, as mentioned above, is that he doesn't command his area. He's very indecisive under the high ball and often stays rooted to the spot when he could come and catch, or at least punch. This breeds hesitancy and mistakes amongst our defenders.
If I was an opposition manager, I'd be telling my team to get high balls into our area at every opportunity.
How didn't Cardiff beat us?

Can anyone who has any goalkeeping expertise explain that second goal, and what Fisher-out-of-water was actually doing. A long hopeful 30 yard crossfield punt into the six yard box and a point blank volley. I fail to see how we would be any worse off there having no goalkeeper at all. He was invisible.

That's exactly what I'm on about, Monny. He starts to come for the high ball, then fatally changes his mind and steps back, giving the Reading player all the time he wants to volley it past him. He should have come for that ball with determination and clattered the forward if necessary.
