Yet again we find ourselves talking about Joel Piroe links with the name of Nottingham Forest again coming to the fore but this time around is there a potential swap deal in the offing. This time last week it was the name of Ellis Simms and Everton that was being discussed as a potential swap […]

From his time here and the few times I've seen him play since, the answer from me would be no thanks.
If it wasn't the rumoured part of a deal, would be be on a list of players we would be looking at?
Now obviously he might be a key type of player in the style we will play, time will tell if he comes.

Just to add depending where you read Simms has signed for Coventry for an initial £3.5m rising on appearances and goals and promotion.

Please no. All I ever saw him do was throw himself to the floor.

Don't mind Surridge as an option, but in a swap for Piroe? No thanks!

Oh good god, absolutely not .

Surridge is ok as a squad player but no way is he a starter so financially for us it should be a no

Fulham have received and rejected a bid from Saudi for Mitrovic. Wonder if that’ll bring another team into play for Piroe. Different type of forward of course but limited amount of goal scorers out there

Is Piroe really prem level? Great eye for a goal but lacks pace, physicality and aerial ability .

More importantly, is Surridge Championship level?
A non starter for me this.

Scored with his head against H'west and almost scored another. Seeing his development with us I'm sure he is professional enough to work hard on the weaknesses within his game and improve as he goes up a level

You know who else lacked pace, physicality and aerial ability?

Solskjaer
Cantona
Trundle

While the latter could easily be argued was never premier league quality, you cannot deny the same about the first two on that list.
Piroe has that knack for making half a yard in the box and finding the corners with his shots.

I can't remember who said it, but there was a famous striker who said that hitting the goal was the easy part. The sign of a great striker is the ability to find the corners.
