Lee Buchanan has “left Werder Bremen’s pre-season camp in Austria to have final talks with another club and complete the pending medical” but is he on his way to Swansea? We reported last week that Buchanan would sign on at Swansea and it now seems that, barring last minute hitches, this could...

Between us or Birmingham according to most outlets.

Will be a shame if we miss out, location could play a part though unfortunately.....

Twitter in Germany seems to suggest he's going to Birmingham

Missed out then. Location plays it's part I suppose, no doubt in my mind this was close as Phil said a few weeks back. Shows things change quickly in football. Move on to the next.

Eustace was playing for Derby/youth coach when Buchanan would have been coming through so that might have been a pull too

Birmingham have already signed 9 players big turnover that.

Their new American owner is splashing the cash it seems. I know they've had a few sales to raise money, but interesting to see how they plan to comply with FFP given they've been losing money for years (more than £110m in total since 2016 apparently).

Probably, and they cashed in on his brother.

Ah well, some random Derby County supporter on twitter reckons he's the worst, most one footed left back they've ever had at the club. I'll take his word for it, it's better than getting worked up about it!

Maybe, yeah.

Darren Witcoop reported Buchanan was our first choice however. But god knows, things change quickly in football.

Not the first and certainly won't be the last time we're beaten to a transfer.
Looks like we need a combination of things to happen now to continue the recruitment drive.
1. Piroe to go to free up funds
2. Ward Prowse to from Saints - which will free up a bid for Grimes
3. PL teams to get back from their glamourous overseas tours so we can get these loans finalised.

Wouldn’t be shocked to see Piroe going to saints.
