Lissah position is centre back, who happens to be more than decent at RB as well.

There’s no way we should be in the market for a new RB this summer, Key on form is more than good enough, and we have Parker who is an able deputy, with Lissah also being an option.

Parker more than held his own when he got into the game and had support from Ronald. He will only get better with game time and experience IMO.

Thanks N_J, I wasn't sure which was Lissah's preferred position. Better news for us if it's centre back, as I think we have a bigger need there than at right back.

If a quality right back is available to us at a good price and doesn't stop us spending in areas with a higher need, then obviously we should make that move. Otherwise, I'm comfortable with Key and Parker battling it out over the summer, with Galbraith and Lissah available as cover in a pinch.

I appreciate Smurph's view that Key isn't good enough and others stating we don't know if Parker will be good enough yet based on his limited opportunities. I think Key has come back well in the last few months and Parker deserves plenty of game time before the end of the season to see what he's got.

I just don't think we're in a position to improve areas where we're probably just about good enough, we have too many needs. Right now, I'd say the only players in the team who absolutely don't need upgrading on are Vigs, Tymon, Galbraith, Vipotnik. I'm still hopeful about Franco, Eom, Widdell, Idah, Inoussa proving themselves good enough, while Walta is an unknown at this point. Outside of them, there are question marks for me over just about everyone else, which is a lot of players.

Wouldn’t disagree with any of that, it’s where I am as well.

Parker had one game, yet he's Messi already from the experts on here.. biased and mental comments on here
Considering he's a right back, that comparison is a little over the top, even from someone like yourself whose family is steeped in football tradition.

From Matos post match he said Parker needs to work on his defensive side. Lets him keep playing I say. But still think Matos will want to bring in a more defensive player with pace. Parker has pace, but maybe not at level Matos wants in defense. Who knows.

Personally RB need to be a priority. It's an area every team for while have targeted when attacking us. And not just this season. Parker I have 0 issue in seeing what he does. But Key is a terrible RB (defense) . I would move him more advance role.

The manager hung him out to dry in the first 30mins , left him with no cover whatsoever further up pitch. Got no take on him myself this early after seeing him, but the manager did him no favours first half yesterday.

Yes, was quite hard to watch.
Bangura was tearing him to pieces and was no coincidence that Parker got into the game after he went off injured.

I would see it more as trusting Cullen to help. But he didn't. The argument is then why did Cullen stay on? Not sure.

Cullen was pushing into central midfield to try and congest midfield....Boro switched play very well to our right side and then prioritised attacking Parker.

One point during the tough period Parker was facing, one of their players left one in on Parker off the ball in our 18 yard box trying to rough him up.

He stuck with it did young Parker and came out of it with some credit in the end.

I Was somewhat surprised that the senior players weren’t more proactive in that situation. I noticed Burgess and Franco going over to him and putting an arm on his shoulder and having a chat. Maybe a message to Matos would have helped? I didn’t notice the captain engaging.

I think it was quite clear.

It's not what we wanted to see, we all wanted Parker to have an absolute Stormer and make us all stand up and go WOW but reality is that he struggled overall.

A loan with regular game time will help him and ourselves out massively, he needs to work on his positional and defensive side before he is considered someone who can challenge a championship starting position regularly.

Cabango spent most of the time bailing him out unfortunately.

Burgess seems to have more captain mindset than Cabango. I would put Franco into that as well. And yes he can speak English and better than many think.
