• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Huw Jenkins sacked and hired a manager in 4 days, what we’d do with someone with football knowledge.
To be fair though, news that Hellberg was close came last weekend. We’d have probably appointed him by now if it was still going to happen. That would have been Hellberg appointed within a week. We obviously didn’t see Boro coming in for him and that has delayed things for us. Ideally they would have appointed someone during the break but it hasn’t worked out for us.

Let's be fair, we will do well to get a point on the weekend.
No Cabango, no Tymon.
Casey will slot in well and Smith as well. I'm not overly worried. Tymon, yes has the assists. But I am more worried about how we will perform rather than individually.

He did in half an hour. Unfortunately the two managers concerned were Michael Laudrup and Garry f***ing Monk. There's football knowledge, right there.
As far as I remember, fans couldn’t believe we were actually signing “The” Michael Laudrup

I think this is where I am too.

Most people seem to agree that it was the correct decision to move Sheehan on and it appears that they did have a number 1 target in mind (and with the Swedish season finishing anticipated a quick turnaround).

Getting your second/third choice is potentially more difficult during the season if they’re already in a job.

Hope I’m wrong but we could easily be 3+ games in limbo - just hope we can pick up some points in the meantime.

I think ATM we are seeing a bigger mess than what we saw dumped in Cambs last week its a case of Dear O"dea...!

This will be O’Dea’s first professional game as a manager.
Brizzle can’t really prepare so may be an advantage but none of us have any clue how he’s going to set up the team.
I do. 11 behind the ball, concede 2 or 3, maybe get 2 shots on target and O'Dear orgasms all the way home

You just know he's going to win two games on the bounce and that will be people clamouring for him to get a job on a permanent basis before asking for his sacking at Christmas

I'll take those wins. But at this stage I don't know who is right for the role. I'm really curious to see on Saturday how the team plays. It's gonna reveal was it Sheehan negative mindset or was it O Dea? Something was off with them.

Is it possible we are putting managers off suggesting to keep the coaches we got in place now? So limiting to who new managers can bring in? Doubt it but crossed my mind.

The only reason we never said anything about the coaching staff was because they weren't Sheehan's staff and we were waiting to see who Hellberg wanted with him. Now it is the next person but the same thing

Could be. Never rule that out. I'm just thinking we have been really unlucky. Hellberg was poached by Boro. We did the leg work and they came in at last-minute. Maybe something to learn there. But let's face it, it's like me doing the leg work to start up a business and Richard Branson comes in at the end and buys it. With Matos, I think it's literally the club trying to play hard ball. By all accounts it's a termination clause not release clause at moment and figure. I think it will happen but will go little longer.
