• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

The guy sitting next to me today used to be a ST holder but hasn’t attended a game for years, so i suppose some of those PL fans might start coming back if we keep winning and play an exciting brand of football.
Well they’ll definitely come back if we reach the PL but they’ll piss off again if we get relegated.

Some will come back if we are challenging for the play offs.
If we were to get promoted, many fans will come back and then depart once we are relegated.

If we are playing decent football and are sitting mid table then it won't be much difference.

Quite disappointed by this today. Can be argued that it's summer holiday etc etc but surely that could have been a benefit.
The club have been proactive and showing ambition with recruitment....Cooper,Martin and Williams all long gone so for me there was no excuses on that front.

Should have been closer to a sell out for me today. Hopefully a pick on numbers next weekend after today's result and a couple of new faces coming in.

If you were not there today but can get there next week......GET YOUR ARSES DOWN THERE.
Middle of August many possibly away with family,I know several stalwarts who play cricket and so werent at the game as they were playing . The season used to start at thr end of August now its at the beginning.
As has been said todays attendence was coose to last seasons average. Looking around me today several empty seats usually with ST s who I suspect to be filled once September comes.

Get off your high horse

Not on my high horse.

Just a little disappointed after all the seasons of false promises that the board are now being very pro active, hoped more would have turned up today to reflect the boards work.
Maybe my hope was unwarranted.

5th August 2023, first home game v Birmingham: 18,051

17th August 2024, first home game v PNE: 14,037

16th August 2025, first home game v Sheff Utd: 15,816

Yes folk are away, but that’s the same every year. How we finished the previous season and what’s happened over the summer, are likely to be the bigger influences on attendance for the first home game of season. Today’s gate wasn’t helped by last weeks performance.

Our average attendance last season was 15499 todays attendence 15816 and not a huge away support but still decent yet we had over 200 more in attendence than we averaged last season...and as said earlier some folks away on hols ,playing cricket or maybe enjoying some family time on the beach.

Surely there were more who were able to get down there today? I know of people who didn't go that could have.
Hopefully it picks up as the weeks go on. The board have shown a bit of commitment....hopefully fans can start doing the same and boost the attendance.

There's still a lot of apathy that's been beaten into the local population from the previous ownership era that'll take some time to erase for some. I thought it was a decent attendance considering we meekly lost the boro game.
Fair points 👍
