• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

Wow, that is a seriously sad one for me. When I was in school in Llandudno, I played for an U16 team and still have a league winners medal from 1968 somewhere and although only 13 at the time, Joey Jones was our left back and it was clear even then that he was destined for greater things. Any 13 year old able to hold his own against 16 year old opposition was clearly ahead of the curve so it was no surprise when he joined Wrexham as a 16 year old. After I'd left the U16 age group, my brother also played alongside Joey for a few seasons as I seem to remember there were only a few weeks between them agewise. Plenty of memories of those days including Joey completely marking one Mickey Thomas out of one game against Mochdre. RIP Jonas.

Only now seeing the thread, I wasn’t aware of his passing until I read this.

Joey Jones was a Welsh legend who always gave 100%, he was a member of the team that beat England in WeMobley back in 1977.

Joey Jones - RIP
