• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

What is yours?

I'm quite warming to 12:30 kick offs on a Saturday.

Used to enjoy a Friday night game as well, couple of beers straight after work and then head to the game.

Any other times over the weekend are just a pain in the arse.

3pm Saturday.

Didn’t mind a Friday night when I was in my teens / early 20’s, but that was a long time ago now.

Still a 3pm Saturday bloke me, don't mind a 12.30 Sunday either, over before Countryfile comes on...
I'm still s Saturday type of bloke unless I've got the Monday off and then look out 🤪

12:30 appeals to me because there's less waiting about in the morning and then you've the rest of the day on the ale.

Sounds like the perfect day, I might swap Countryfile for antiques road show 😉

Remember the days when they'd move the game to a Friday because Wales were throwing the egg around on the Saturday.
Yeah remember it well, also used to think to myself “imagine if we ever had enough good players that were called up to the Welsh squad, we’d get our games postponed then as well”. As if that would ever happen 🙄🤣

Love watching antiques road show, especially when you get some old fogey's bringing in a lamp or something they think is worth 20 grand only to be told its worth 30 quid! Then comes the stiff upper lip and "it's more than I thought" through gritted teeth scenario 😅

There was something special about Friday nights down the Vetch. 7.30pm kick offs too.
We’d always get decent crowds even in the lower leagues.

I'll chuck in a vote for the half twelve Saturday KO too. Especially earlier and later in the season when you've got a fair amount of daylight left after the game to do other stuff.

Do miss a Friday under the lights though.

Friday nights down the Vetch were great. Some good nights at the Liberty too, Yeovil and Brizzle spring to mind?

Lovely feeling getting three points before all the other teams played.
